Basic Needs Counselor: Assist vulnerable individuals and/or families with short-term basic needs including the following types of situations: financial counseling, transportation, food, personal products, utilities, and housing. This will take place through assessment of short-term emergency needs, advocacy with vendors, networking and collaboration with other human service providers, providing assistance in securing funding, and/or making referrals to other helping agencies. Additionally, will collect and maintain client information through client database, track disbursement of funds through spreadsheet programs.
NOEP Coordinator: Manage all activities related to Catholic Charities of Steuben County’s Nutrition Outreach and Education Program with the objective of increasing participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)among Steuben County residents. Responsibilities include providing SNAP outreach & assistance to eligible individuals, increasing awareness about and improving perception of SNAP within the greater community, and developing partnerships with local social service organizations interested in expanding SNAP participation.
Peer Advocate: Function as a support for individuals utilizing Catholic Charities of Steuben Turning Point for basic needs and community navigation services.
Program Assistant: Interact with clients in need of food and other basic needs, refer clients to additional support services, update and enter data, while maintaining confidentiality.
